Toolbar

At the top left of the MiniMeters window you should see the Toolbar. The toolbar contains the most commonly used features and settings that may need to be changed at a moment's notice. Let's start from left to right.

MiniMeters Logo

This element is simply a button to open the home page.

MiniMeters Version

This element shows which version of MiniMeters you are currently using. If you are a beta tester this also includes the build number.

v1.2.0.100

  • v1: Major - Large changes that may change the overall functionality of MiniMeters.
  • 2: Minor - Feature additions or changes that add capabilities, meters, or set MiniMeters up for future improvements.
  • 0: Patch - Bug fixes.
  • 100: The internally used build number. This allows me, the developer, to track exactly what changes were made in the code. This is particularly useful in our private betas. Unless you are a beta tester you likely will not see this.

If an update is availible, a small icon will appear indicating that. Clicking the version will bring you to the page to download the new update.

Grab Handle

This has the same capability of the Title Bar of most applications. Clicking and dragging on this region will allow you to move the MiniMeters window and position it where you'd like on your screen.

Quit Button

Fairly self-explanatory. This button allows you to quit MiniMeters.

Minimize Button

Also self-explanatory. This button allows you to minimize MiniMeters to the Taskbar (or miniturize to the Dock on macOS).

Preset Menu

This menu provides the ability to select from any of the default presets, create new ones, or save the current preset.

Reposition Menu (Visible on Horizontal Layouts Only)

If you are using a Horizontal layout you will also see the Reposition Menu. This menu allows you to select from two preset positions:

  • Top: Positions MiniMeters at the top of the screen.
  • Bottom: Posittions MiniMeters at the bottom of the screen.

If you have multiple monitors and wish to position MiniMeters at the top or bottom of that monitor simply move MiniMeters to that screen before selecting one of those two options.

Pin To Top Button

The Pin To Top Button allows you to toggle the window to be placed as the topmost window on your computer. All other windows, excluding those who also are set to topmost, will be below MiniMeters.

Note: On macOS this does not alone allow MiniMeters to be placed on the same monitor as a fullscreen application. However, hiding the dock icon using the setting (which will be discussed later in this guide) will enable that capability.

Record Button

As the name implies, the Record Button allows you to record audio from whichever Audio Source MiniMeters is currently monitoring.

Right-clicking on the Record button will bring up a menu showing you the most recent recordings, with options to copy them to the clipboard and to move the recording to the trash.

Selecting "Open Recordings Folder in [Finder][Explorer][File Browser]" will show you your recordings directly in the File Browser on your system.

Pause Button

The Pause Button will pause all of the modules in MiniMeters. Please Note: The Spectrogram and Waveform meters will clear themselves if some settings are changed.

Settings Button

The Settings Button will show the settings screen for whichever layout you are using.

You can also right click and choose to open the full settings window separately. This may be more convenient in certain situations.

Hamburger Button

The Hamburger Button shows all of the additional settings that may be useful.
